Freelance editing fees can vary according to a host of
factors, including the editor's level of expertise, rush fees,
individual pro bono and discount policies, regional cost-of-living
standards, and the expenses of freelancing.
To get a general idea of what you can expect to pay for different types
and levels of professional editing,
visit the Editorial Freelancers Association's
Common Rates for Editorial Services page.
(The Northwest Editors Guild is not affiliated with the Editorial
Freelancers Association.)
Please note that the Editors Guild is
a networking group for freelance editors, not an employment or placement
agency. As such, we do not test or certify our members, and we are not
involved in the client-editor relationship. As the client, you are
responsible for ensuring that the editor you hire has the skills to do
your job, and for negotiating the details of the work arrangement with
your editor. Issues that may arise between you and your editor are not
in the Guild’s purview and should be addressed directly with the
editor.
All posts will be deleted after the deadline you
